BIT Mesra offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level courses. BTech, B.Arch, BCA, BPharm, and other UG courses are among the most popular BIT Mesra courses. BIT Mesra cutoff is released for admission in UG and PG courses. For BTech admission, JoSAA has released cutoff for five rounds of admission. Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra has cutting-edge facilities and infrastructure for students' total development. For the 5,000 residents living in BIT, Mesra Campus, there is a shopping centre with eateries, salons, stationery stores, tailors, and leisure areas. Mentioned below are some of the facilities available at BIT Mesra campus.
- Library: With a sizable collection of printed texts, BIT, Mesra Library is made possible by LIBSYS and OPAC technologies. Additionally, there is a digital section featuring a CD-ROM database, web-based OPAC, and separate internet facility.
- Hostels: There are three hostels for girls and eleven for boys where the students are housed separately. Dining halls, reading rooms, TV-equipped entertainment halls, separate mess halls, and common areas with indoor game consoles are among the amenities offered by the hostel.
- Laboratories: To support students in leading healthy lifestyles, the campus offers a multitude of sports facilities. At BIT, Mesra, education takes place in over 65 course-specific laboratories in addition to classrooms. Modern, updated equipment and cutting-edge technologies are used in the laboratories. Additionally, the students have access to a Central Instrumentation Facility and a Central CAD Facility. Furthermore, there are auditorium facilities on campus.
- Medical Centre: With numerous facilities, the medical centre at BIT, Mesra is well-equipped. Fully operational, the BIT, Mesra Dispensary is a medical facility. It has 20 beds total, including 2 isolation wards with 8 beds each, and is open 24/7. Facilities are available for emergency cases, IPD, and OPD. In addition to 20 paramedical employees, 5 allopathic physicians, 1 homoeopathic physician, and visiting specialists such as a dentist, physiotherapist, eye specialist, skin specialist, and gynaecologist are present. Four ambulances with oxygen cylinders and first aid kits are on call around-the-clock. Additional medical facilities consist of a dressing room, an ECG unit, and an X-ray unit.
- Transportation: BIT, Mesra, shuttle services comprise nine buses that operate according to prearranged schedules, in addition to several trucks and four-wheelers. Three ATMs and banking facilities are additional services.

BIT Mesra provides financial aid to students according to their needs and merit. Meritorious students admitted to the BTech and BArch programmes are eligible for a scholarship worth nearly 2.5 crores. Additionally, BIT Mesra scholarship recipients who meet the requirements of the Jharkhand government's reserved categories—SC, ST, PT, and OBC—are given awards from the Welfare Department.
